Description
Acacia House, now an antique shop, is an 18th-century building originally constructed for Richard Rigby. It is likely made of ashlar lined plastered brick and features a hipped grey slate roof. The house has three storeys and cellars, with a five-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes. The ground and first floors have moulded surrounds, and there is a corner patera on the ground floor. The left return facing The Green has a single range of similar windows.
The central porch is notable for its pilasters with moulded capitals and bases, fluted columns with moulded capitals, and decorative swags and key motifs on the frieze, topped with a moulded flat canopy. The double doors are composed of three panels each and have a fluted surround adorned with lion masks.
