Description

Dolphin House is an 18th-century house forming part of a terrace in Mistley High Street. It was likely built for Richard Rigby. The house is constructed of plastered brick with a red plain tiled roof. A chimney on the left appears to be shared with the adjacent Mistley House. The building is two storeys and has attics, exhibiting a plinth and a central band, with a left pilaster. There are three flat-headed dormers, each with a two-light, small-paned casement window. The front elevation features a three-window range of vertically sliding sash windows, with blocked half windows to the right. A stepped approach leads to the left-hand door, which has reveal panels, a fluted frieze, a flat canopy, and is a four-panel design with a two-light window above. It is listed for its group value.
