Description
This building is a cottage located at 56 Hockley Road, dating from the 18th century. It is timber framed and mostly covered with weatherboarding, with some rough rendering beneath the eaves. The cottage has a brick plinth and a thatched roof, with no chimney stack visible from the road. It is one storey high with attics, and features a single storey lean-to extension on the left side. The front has a 1:2 window arrangement with two-light small paned casements, each with pentice boards above. A central 20th-century door is accessed by steps, and there is a red tiled gabled porch supported by brackets. This building is believed to have been the former Mill Cottage.
