Description

The Ferns House is an 18th-century house with later alterations. It is timber-framed, with walls faced in gault brick and returns and rear weatherboarded. The roof is covered in red plain tiles, and a central chimney stack is built of red brick. The house has two storeys and attics, with two segmental-headed dormers in the roof. It has a two-window front with small-paned vertically sliding sash windows, each with shutters. A three-step approach leads to the central entrance, which features a four-panelled door with a two-light upper panel, a moulded surround, a frieze, and a moulded pediment.
