RAYLEIGH GREAT WHEATLEY ROAD TQ 79 SE 2/78 Barn approx. 8 metres east of Great Wheatley Farmhouse GV II

Barn. C17. Of possibly earlier origin with later roof and other repairs. Timber framed and weatherboarded. Brick plinth. Corrugated iron clad roof. Gabled midstrey to right, now with lean-to to left. Single storey brick right return lean-to. Of 8 bays, 2 bays with jowled storey posts. Arched braces to tie beams. Through bracing to walls. Now with side purlin ridgeboard roof. Halved and bladed top plate scarf.
