Description
No. 91 High Street is a former house that dates back to the 16th or 17th century, with later alterations and additions. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with red tiled roofs and featuring three red brick chimney stacks. The left range includes a gabled crosswing on the right side. On the first floor, there are three vertically sliding sash windows with glazing bars and horns. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front designed in an 18th-century style, which includes a continuous fascia and base, pilasters with moulded capitals and bases, and three small-paned bow windows. The door features a lower panel with small-paned upper glazing and sidelights. Inside, many features are obscured, but visible elements include pairs of heavy jowled storey posts on the first floor of the crosswing, an 18th-century roof in the left range with side purlins pegged at the ridge, and a stick baluster staircase at the rear.
