House. C16/17 with c19 and C20 additions and alterations. Timber framed and plastered. Red plain tiled roofs. Front range has a red brick chimney stack with 4 octagonal chimney shafts, the moulded bases original. Restored rear chimney stack. Complex plan. Front right range with C19 gambrel roofed addition to left. Rear left range with 2 adjoining turrets to right attached to rear of main range. 2 storeys or one storey and attics with cellar. 3 window range of C19 vertically sliding sashes with side margins. Central door with 2 lights. The C19 left addition with one front window and steps to return mezzanine door. Brick built dog kennel under these steps. Interior features includes halved wall bracing. C17 panelled door. Hand wrought hinges and catches to many doors. Jowled storey posts, 2 pairs of which have original solid arched braces to tie beam. Painted panel above bedroom door. Arched head to turret doorway. Turned balusters to stair turret staircase, restored inglenook with red brick dated panel which may be original. Halved and bladed scarf to rear top plate. C19 cast iron baluster rails, possibly from elsewhere. C19 servants wing with leaded stained glass to some windows. Rebuilt roof with sooted medieval timbers. Much re-used timber throughout.
