Description
Hill House is a house dating from the 16th or 17th century, with possible earlier origins, and has undergone later alterations and additions. It is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a red plain tiled roof and featuring a central red brick chimney stack. The building has two storeys and a two-window range of vertically sliding sashes with glazing bars, along with 20th-century small paned casements. There is a 20th-century door located on the left return. Inside, notable features include heavy bridging joists, some of which have lambs tongue chamfer stops, as well as panelled and vertically boarded doors, some equipped with 1 L hinges. The interior also boasts a 17th-century inglenook fireplace with a mantle beam, the base of which is made of 16th-century brick with chamfered jambs.
