Description
Lufkins Farmhouse is a house that dates from the 16th and 17th centuries, with a rear frame from the 16th or 17th century and a front range from the 17th or 18th century, which has seen later alterations and additions. The building is timber framed and plastered, with weatherboarded returns and a rear section. It has a red plain tiled roof and features red brick chimney stacks that are offset at their bases. The house is two storeys high and has a three-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes with moulded surrounds and pentice boards on the ground floor. A 20th-century glazed gabled porch has been added. Inside, notable features include stop-chamfered bridging joists, side girts, an 18th-century corner cupboard with a fluted dome, and an 18th-century hall archway.
