Description
The granary and attached cartlodge at Lofts Farm is a Grade II listed building dating from the late 16th century for the granary and the early 19th century for the cartlodge. The granary is a two-storey, three-bay timber-framed structure, covered in weatherboarding and topped with an asbestos sheeted roof. Inside, it features heavy beams with 2-inch chamfers and run-out stops, diamond mullioned windows, and substantial wall bracing, with housings in both the brace and stud. To the southwest, there is a quadrant-shaped cartlodge from the early 19th century, which is open-sided and has a rear wall made of Sussex bond brick, along with a hipped slate roof.
