No. 142 High Street is a shop that dates back to the early 17th century. It features a timber-framed structure with ashlar rendering and a plain tile roof that connects with the adjacent buildings, Nos. 140 and 144. The building is two storeys high and has a single-window range. On the first floor, there is a 12-pane sash window with a moulded surround. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front that includes a fascia, one glass pane, and a glazed door. Inside, the building retains its 17th-century timber frame, which includes a clasped-purlin roof, chamfered bridging, and small squarish common joists.
