Description
Reigate Cottage is a cottage that dates back to the 15th century or earlier, with alterations and additions from the 17th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame with plaster and has a roof covered with square 20th-century tiles, which includes two gabled dormers. A central red brick chimney stack is present. The cottage is one storey and has an attic, with hipped single-storey extensions on both the left and right sides. The front has a two-window range of small-paned casements and a 20th-century half-glazed door to the right. Inside, the original bay displays heavy halved and pegged arch braces on the ground floor wall, along with signs of similar bracing on the first floor. It also has chamfered bridging joists, jowled storey posts, and part of an original doorway. The extensions feature through bracing.
