Description
Four Elms Cottage is a cottage with origins dating back to the 16th century, featuring later alterations and additions. It is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a thatched roof that has a gabled dormer on the right side. The cottage has a central gault brick chimney stack and a red brick external chimney stack on the left. It is one storey high with attics and has a three-window range of two-light diamond leaded casements. There is an off-centre, one storey and attic gabled porch extension covered with red tiles, which includes 20th-century three-light leaded windows and a vertically boarded door. To the left, there is a single storey, 20th-century red tiled extension. Inside, the cottage features an exposed two-bay timber frame, with the northern bays being an extension from the 18th century or later.
