Description

The Poplars is a house that was formerly a public house, dating from the 16th or 17th century or possibly earlier, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed with a timber frame and rough render, featuring a red brick plinth and a rear extension. The building has red plain tiled roofs that are half hipped on the north and west sides, and it is designed in an L-shape. A central red brick chimney stack is located on the left side of the forward range. The house has two storeys and a 2:2 window arrangement of 20th-century three-light small paned casements. Inside, some 16th or 17th-century studding is exposed, and there are stop-chamfered bridging joists throughout.
