Description

This barn, located approximately 50 metres north-west of Caidge Farmhouse, dates from the 17th or 18th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and is covered with weatherboarding. The roof is clad in corrugated iron and sits on a brick plinth. The barn features two midstreys and forward lean-to granaries, and it likely has eight bays with through bracing on the walls. There are arched braces supporting the tie beams, and the roof has side purlins that are pegged at the ridge. It is considered a good example of its type and was in full use for grain storage at the time of the last survey.
