Description
The buildings at 3, 3A, and 3B Sun Street date from 1767 and consist of two structures. The building on the west includes No 3 and part of No 3B, while the building on the east comprises No 3A and part of No 3B. The western building is from the 16th or early 17th century, featuring a timber framework with a plastered front and an old tiled roof. It has two storeys and attics, with the first floor overhanging, a band at the level of the first-floor window heads, and a casement box dormer. The modern shop front includes two first-floor flush sash windows with glazing bars.
The eastern building is likely from the 17th century, with a front that was modified in the late 18th or early 19th century. It has a colourwashed brick facing and an old tiled modified mansard roof with a casement box dormer. This building also has two storeys and attics, featuring a shop window and a first-floor three-light flush sash window with glazing bars.
