Description

No. 5 Sun Street is a building from the 16th or 17th century that was refronted in the 18th century. It features roughcast walls and an old tiled roof behind a parapet. The building has two storeys and includes a brick cornice with modillions. On the first floor, there are four windows that are flush set with glazing bars, consisting of three sashes and one window that has been converted to a casement. The early shop front is characterized by pilasters, a frieze, a cornice, and end brackets. The east side elevation gable has tarred weatherboarding. On the left side, there is a carriageway with brick nogging that exposes timber framing, which is also visible on the back elevation along with wattle and daub infilling.
