Description

No. 54 High Street is a building from the 18th century, possibly built on an older structure. It features a timber frame that is rendered and painted, with quoins and bands at the second and third floor cill levels. The building has four storeys and two windows. The modern shopfront is located on the ground floor. The first floor includes two arched windows that are joined together to create a five-light casement. The second and third floors each have two sash windows with architrave surrounds. There is a bracketed eaves cornice, and the roof is hipped and covered with slate. Nos. 53 to 60 High Street, which are consecutive, form a group with this building.
