Description
The Queen's Arms Public House is a timber-framed building located on the east side of Market Square, dating from the early 17th century or late 16th century. It has two storeys and an attic, featuring irregularly placed windows with three on the first floor to the right and two more evenly spaced on the ground floor. The building has a high-pitched roof, which has been renewed with machine tiles, and includes a 19th-century flat dormer on the right. The walls are roughcast with a parapet front, likely a result of an 18th-century rebuilding, and are whitewashed. The first floor has retlaced sash windows set in flush, moulded frames, while the ground floor features wide 19th-century windows with pivoted heads and glazing bars in flush frames. There is a long rear extension with a hipped gable end, and the ground floor is situated below the current street level. All the listed buildings in Market Square are part of a group.
