Description

The buildings at 44 and 44A Sun Street date from the 16th or 17th century, although they were later refaced. They are timber-framed and stuccoed, with exposed angle posts visible on the right-hand side. The roof is covered in old tiles, and the rear elevation features tarred weatherboarding. The buildings are two storeys high, with two sash and casement windows on the first floor within flush moulded frames. A modern shop window is located on the right, while a 19th-century shop front with glazing bars is found on the left. The interior retains much visible timber framework.
