Description

This property comprises four buildings at numbers 16 and 18, and 22 and 24, St Mary Street. It dates to the late 18th or early 19th century, representing a refronting of an earlier timber-frame structure. The exterior is a mix of red brick, roughcast, and cement rendering. The buildings are two storeys high with an attic. They feature five sash windows, most of which lack original glazing bars or have been replaced. There are two late 19th-century splayed oriels (bay windows) and eight gabled dormers, dating to the late 19th century and more recent times. Modern shop fronts are also present. A covered way is located on the left-hand side, displaying exposed timber framing. The interiors have been altered but retain some exposed ceiling beams.
