Description
The buildings at 89, 90, and 91 Corve Street consist of houses dating from the 18th century to the early 19th century, built in front of a 17th-century core. The construction is primarily brick, with some timber framing, and features a plain tile roof. A brick stack is located at the rear and on the front right.
The building has two storeys and a six-window front. The windows are mostly late 19th-century sash windows with two panes per sash and margin glazing, along with one 20th-century casement window. Stone and timber sills are present throughout. The two houses on the right feature segmental brick arches above the windows. To the left of the facade is a storey band, a pine plank front door, and a shop window with a plain tiled pentice roof. Brick modillion eaves are present throughout. The right-hand side incorporates a 20th-century six-panel door under a gauged brick segmental arch, a late 19th-century four-panel door in a beaded case, and a passage to the rear, also under a gauged brick segmental arch, which exhibits box framing with chamfered pilasters and scalloped panels on the first floor. A passage to the rear includes a chamfered joist above.
At the rear, there are two large gable wings; the wing to the left is rendered, while the right wing shows 18th-century brickwork. Large purlins and steep-pitched plain tile roofs are visible, along with an 18th and 19th-century cluster stack on the right.
