Description
The Church of St Nicholas of Myra is a parish church made of sandstone, featuring a nave with aisles, a chancel, a south chapel, and a west tower. It was largely rebuilt between 1866 and 1885 by architect John Norton in the Perpendicular style, while retaining the 14th-century west tower and the restored 15th-century roof of the nave. The north aisle was added in 1890-1891, and a north porch was constructed in 1904. Notable stained glass includes the chancel's south window created by Morris & Co, featuring figures by Burne-Jones, and stained glass in the south chapel by Kempe. Additionally, there is an alabaster tomb-chest dating from 1520.
