Description

Nos. 81 and 83 on High Street are late 19th century buildings designed to resemble a timber-frame structure, incorporating fragments of a 17th century timber frame in their facade. This includes a rail and carved brackets that are inscribed with the date 1667. The buildings are two storeys high with an attic and feature an overhang on the upper storey. They have two canted oriel windows and a circular corner turret window on the left-hand side, which is tiered over the upper storeys. The windows have leaded lights, and the buildings have sprocket eaves and tiled roofs. The shop fronts are from the late 19th century but have modern glazing. The interior has been significantly altered.
