Description

The property comprises three houses and shops, dating back to the 16th century, with substantial alterations and a brick facade dating to the early 18th century and further changes in the early 19th century. The building is timber-framed and clad in red brick, topped with a plain tiled roof. It has a plinth and moulded plat band, with moulded wooden eaves to a hipped roof, featuring three hipped dormers and a stack centrally located to the left. The first floor features seven glazing bar sashes, while the ground floor has three blank recessed panels. A mid-19th century plate glass shopfront is present on the left, a mullioned and transomed shop window in the centre, and two canted bay windows towards the right. The central entrance is a six-panelled door, with two half-glazed doors positioned on the right, each sheltered by a flat hood. The fenestration cuts through two earlier gauged and keyed window heads and a carriage-way arch at the right end. A central gauged and keyed wall niche remains. The early 18th century brickwork, including the plat band, is of notably high quality.
