Description

The George Inn is a public house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with a slate roof and features two storeys and a basement, along with projecting and moulded eaves. There are stacks at both the left and right ends of the building. The first floor has a regular arrangement of three glazing bar sash windows, with the outer two featuring cast iron window boxes. On the ground floor, there is one glazing bar sash window to the right and a three-light mullioned window to the left, both topped with painted gauged heads. A central half-glazed door is located at the top of three steps, framed by a pilaster surround and a flat hood. To the right, there is a basement opening with a painted gauged head, and a wrought iron inn sign bracket is also present.
