Description
Nos 157 and 159 The Street are a pair of cottages dating from the 18th century. They are constructed of painted brick and have a plain tiled roof. The buildings stand two storeys high on a plinth and feature a moulded eaves cornice. The roof has two hipped dormers and chimney stacks located on the left, right, and at the rear.
On the first floor, there are two sash windows and a central glazing bar sash. The ground floor has two glazing bar sashes and a central tripartite glazing bar sash, along with one glazing bar sash in an outshot to the left. The entrance on the left consists of a half-glazed and panelled door with an open pediment supported by Doric pilasters, while the door on the right is a four-panel design with a flat hood on brackets. There are outshots to both the left and right of the cottages.
