Description

No. 214, formerly known as Apsley House, is a house dating from around 1800. It is timber framed and weather boarded, designed to resemble ashlar stonework. The building has two storeys and a basement, set on a rendered base, and features moulded wooden eaves beneath a hipped roof, with chimney stacks located to the right, left, and rear left. The front has a regular arrangement of windows, with three sash windows on the first floor and two on the ground floor, all framed with moulded surrounds. The ground floor windows have cornices above them. The central entrance door has six panels, with the top two being glazed, and is set within a Doric porch that is accessed by a flight of six steps.
