Description
Scarbutts is an 18th-century house built for Mr. Terry Marsh, who died in 1789. The building features painted brick and a plain tiled roof. It stands two storeys high with an attic on a plinth, showcasing a moulded modillion eaves cornice beneath a hipped roof. There are three flat-roofed dormers and chimney stacks on the left and right sides behind the ridge, along with a 20th-century flue at the front center. The windows are regularly arranged, with three glazing bar sashes on the first floor and two on the ground floor, all having gauged heads. The central entrance door consists of six raised and fielded panels, topped by a traceried semi-circular fanlight and an open pediment supported by engaged Tuscan columns. Additionally, there are canted bay windows on the left and right return fronts.
