Description
The wall and railings north and east of Chestnut House date from the early 19th century. The wall, which has been partially rebuilt, is constructed of red brick and stands about 8 feet high. It stretches approximately 20 metres and returns down Colonel's Lane. The wall features buttresses and gate piers topped with ball finials. The hooped railings extend approximately 30 metres and connect to another section of wall to the west, which is about 10 metres long.
