Description
This barn, located approximately 20 meters northwest of Marshalls Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century. It is timber framed and covered with weatherboarding, topped with handmade red clay tiles. The structure consists of five bays oriented roughly northeast to southwest, featuring a gabled midstrey in the second bay from the northeast. There are lean-to extensions on either side of the midstrey, both with catslide roofs. The two southwest bays have an inserted floor, and there is a gabled pitching door to the southeast in the second bay from the southwest end, which has also been inserted. The roof is half-hipped at the southwest end and includes curved braces to the tiebeams, a queen strut roof, and joggled butt purlins.
