The memorial cross, located 18 yards north of the iron gates, commemorates H F Johnson, Doctor of Divinity and Archdeacon of Colchester. The date of the cross is likely from the 19th century. It is a tall, Celtic cross made of stone, featuring relief carvings with Celtic reticulated strap-work in panels.
