Description

The Crown Court Office is a late 19th-century office building constructed from gault brick with stone trim. It stands three storeys tall, with the top floor being a later addition, and features two bays. The ground storey is faced with stone and includes three rusticated pilasters and two plate glass windows. The first storey has two horned and plate-glazed sash windows set within stone architraves, each with aprons beneath. A moulded stone string above indicates the original height of the building. The second storey, added later, is made of mixed re-used old gault bricks and contains two sash windows. On the east wall, there is a stone doorway with rusticated returns, a pediment, and a six-panel oak door.
