Description

This barn, located approximately 25 metres south-east of Owl's Hall Farmhouse, dates from the late 16th century. It features a timber frame with walls clad in weatherboards, corrugated iron, and plaster, and is roofed with corrugated asbestos. The barn has five bays aligned from northeast to southwest, with a midstrey on the northwest side. It includes jowled posts and cambered tiebeams, two pairs of which have been replaced by bolted knees. The structure also has curved tension braces that are trenched outside the studs, and a clasped purlin roof with arched wind bracing.
