Description
This barn, located approximately 15 metres southeast of Golden's Farmhouse, dates back to the early 16th century and was extended in the late 16th century. It is timber framed and covered with weatherboarding, with a roof made of corrugated asbestos. The structure consists of three bays aligned east-west, featuring a midstrey to the north. In the late 16th century, an additional bay was added to the west. There is a 20th-century lean-to shed to the west of the midstrey, as well as a 19th or 20th-century lean-to extension with a tiled roof at the western end. The barn displays jowled posts, heavy studding, and arched braces to one tiebeam, along with a crownpost roof that has axial bracing and some original wattle and daub infill. In the 20th century, one tiebeam, part of the south wallplate, and some rafters were renewed. A skylight made of corrugated perspex is present in the southern pitch of the roof.
