Description
Woodertons Farmhouse is a cottage dating from the late 14th century and mid 15th century. It is timber framed and has parget plastered walls. The roof is red tiled and features two gabled dormers. There are red brick chimney stacks on both the right and left sides. The building is one storey with attics and has a two-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes. The central entrance has a half-glazed door and is sheltered by a gabled red tiled porch. Inside, there are remains of a 14th-century hall house, which includes a cross quadrant crown post and heavily sooted rafters, along with a 16th-century inserted floor. To the right, there is a 15th-century jettied extension, although the jetty has been underbuilt. At the rear, a 20th-century extension incorporates a 17th-century farm building.
