Description
Le Chateau, also known as 65 Club, is an asymmetrical building made of rendered brick, designed by T S Tait in 1928. It is an early example of the Dutch style influenced by Dudok. The building features a flat boarded roof and a plain parapet, standing two storeys tall. The windows are metal casements with horizontal glazing bars. The entrance is located on the south side, accessed from a small terrace that has a projecting balcony above it. A flat canopy projects above one of the first-storey windows on the west side and extends around the north-west corner. The garage on the east side has been modified to serve as workshop accommodation. At the rear, on the north side, there is a staircase tower. Le Chateau is part of a group that includes Boars Tye Farmhouse, No 67 (Craig Angus), and No 77 (Wolverton).
