Description

A symmetrical pair of cottages was built in 1927 by Thomas Tait, designed in the International Modern style. The cottages are constructed of brick, which has been rendered and colourwashed. Each is two storeys high and two windows wide, with a flat roof and a parapet. The original entrance door is in the outer bay of number 16, while the entrance door for number 14 has been replaced. Projecting canopies shelter the entrances, and above are 'V' shaped metal bay windows topped with pinnacles at the corners. Other windows have been replaced. The cottages feature brick chimney stacks with later coping. They are linked to numbers 10 and 12, and 18 and 20, by brick walls providing access to the rear gardens.
