Description

Nos 10 and 12 Silver Street are a symmetrical pair of cottages built in 1927 by Thomas Tait, showcasing the International Modern architectural style. The cottages are constructed of brick, which is rendered and colourwashed. Each cottage is two storeys high and features two windows. They have flat roofs with parapets. The original entrance doors are located in the outer bays and are topped with projecting canopies. Above these entrances are 'V' shaped metal bay windows with pinnacles at the corners. Some of the windows have been replaced. The cottages also have brick chimney stacks, which have later coping. They are connected to Nos 14 and 16 by a brick wall that includes an entrance to the rear gardens.
