Description

Nos 17 and 19 Silver Street are a symmetrical pair of cottages built in 1927 by Thomas Tait, showcasing the International Modern style. The cottages are constructed of painted brick and feature a continuous rendered parapet. Each cottage is two storeys tall and two windows wide, topped with a flat roof. The original entrance doors are located in the outer bays and are sheltered by projecting canopies. Above these entrances are 'V' shaped metal bay windows with pinnacles at the corners. Some of the windows have been replaced. Brick chimney stacks with later coping are present, and the cottages are linked to Nos 13 and 15 by a brick wall that provides access to the rear gardens.
