Description

Nos 5 and 7 on Silver Street are a symmetrical pair of cottages built in 1927 by Thomas Tait, showcasing the International Modern style. The cottages are constructed of painted brick and are two storeys high, each featuring two windows. They have a flat roof with a continuous rendered parapet and projecting canopies over the original entrance doors. The windows have been replaced but remain in their original openings. No 7 has a later projecting front extension made of painted brick. There are three brick chimney stacks, each with later coping.
