Description

This barn, dating to the late 15th or early 16th century, stands within the moat and to the left of the house at Larks In the Wood, Pentlow. It has undergone later alterations, including a re-roof in the early 19th century. The barn is timber framed and clad with weatherboarding, featuring a brick plinth and a corrugated iron roof constructed with king posts. A pair of vertically boarded double doors, fitted with wrought iron hinges, provide access. The five bays showcase some 16th-century arched braces supporting the tie beam and hanging knees to the rest of the structure.
