Description
Paines Manor is a house dating from around 1607, featuring a right crosswing with later alterations and additions, including significant work from the 18th century. At the time of the survey, it was undergoing restoration. The building is timber framed, with part of the frame exposed in the center and right crosswing, while the rest is plastered. It has a red plain tiled roof and stands two storeys high with attics. The facade consists of a 1:1:1 arrangement of various 19th and 20th century windows. To the left crosswing, there is a "Tudor" doorway. The right crosswing jetties out at the first floor and gable, featuring a carved gable bressumer with carved brackets and the inscription "H E 1607 G W". The apex has pierced bargeboards, and there is a red brick chimney stack with four attached diagonal shafts, located off center to the right.
