Description

This barn, located approximately 12 metres south-west of Russell's Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded and plastered, with a roof covered in corrugated asbestos. The barn has four bays arranged in a north-west to south-east orientation, with a midstrey on the north-east side. It includes jowled posts and primary straight bracing, while the arched braces to the tiebeams have been replaced with bolted knees. The roof is gambrel in style and half-hipped at both ends. The wallplates exhibit face-halved and bladed scarfs.
