Description

This is a house dating from the 17th century or earlier. It’s timber-framed and has plaster walls, covered by a roof of handmade red clay tiles. The house has four bays facing northeast, with a chimney stack located one bay from the left end. A single-storey lean-to extension is present at the left side. At the right end, the house connects directly with Simm’s Farmhouse, forming a pair of buildings constructed using a ‘Unit System’. The house is single-storey in height, with attics above. The windows are 20th-century casements, along with one 20th-century round fixed light. There are also two 20th-century casements in gabled dormers. A 20th-century door is found in the left return. The diagonal shafts are rebuilt using modern materials.
