Description

Woodleys Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is timber framed and plastered, with a roof covered in red clay tiles. The house has three bays aligned approximately northeast to southwest, facing southeast, and features an axial chimney stack in the middle bay. There is a single-storey extension from the 17th or 18th century at the rear of the northeast bay. The southwest extension, dating from the 18th century, is also single storey with attics and has an external chimney stack on the front wall, along with a single-storey extension at the rear that has been extensively modernised.

The farmhouse is two storeys high and has two plain boarded doors, a tiled gabled porch, and a two-window range of 20th-century casements. Some weatherboarding is present on the southwest gable and the rear extension. Inside, the house features jowled posts, axial beams with lamb's tongue and bar stops, and exposed joists of horizontal section, some of which have been renewed. There is also some exposed framing, and two hearths that are largely original; the southwest hearth includes an oven door but no oven, while the northeast hearth has a curved interior with a renewed mantel beam.
