Description
Providence Cottage is a small house dating from the 17th century, with extensions added in the 18th and 19th centuries. It features a timber frame that is plastered, and the roof is thatched. The original structure consists of two bays aligned east-west, with a 19th-century external chimney stack at each end. To the north, there is an 18th or 19th-century extension that includes an axial chimney stack, as well as a single-storey lean-to extension to the west, which is roofed with red clay corrugated tiles. The building has a plain boarded door and two 20th-century metal casement windows on the ground floor, along with two additional windows on the first floor, one of which is located in a slated swept dormer. Part of the eastern elevation is clad with painted brickwork.
