Description
This barn, located approximately 80 metres south-east of Park Hall, dates from the early 18th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, with a roof covered in corrugated iron. The barn has five bays running east to west, featuring a midstrey to the north. The main roof is gambrel in shape and half-hipped at both ends. The structure is made of hardwood, likely imported, and is constructed using pegged joints. It includes primary straight bracing and arched braces supporting the tiebeams. Each upper pitch of the main roof has one side purlin, which is clasped on high collars. The midstrey roof has two high collars with clasped purlins and is half-hipped, though not in a gambrel form. The northern entrance is blocked, while a large entrance has been created on the opposite side.
