Description
The Pump House is a pair of cottages, now combined into one house, dating from the 17th century and altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame with plaster and is roofed with handmade red clay tiles. The building has five bays facing southwest, with a central stack. On the left end, there is a lean-to garage that is weatherboarded and has a corrugated iron roof. A large extension was added to the rear in 1982, which is also weatherboarded and tiled. The house is one storey with attics and includes two 20th-century casement windows and one 20th-century bay window. There are three 20th-century casements in gabled dormers and a 20th-century gabled porch with a door on the left. The roof is half-hipped at both ends. Inside, there is some heavy studding, chamfered axial beams, and two large wood-burning hearths.
