Description
The Kicking Dicky is a house that dates back to the 15th century, with alterations made in the 16th, 18th, and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame with a plastered exterior and a thatched roof. The building has three bays facing southwest, which includes a two-bay hall and an originally storeyed end that was extended by one bay to the left in the 18th century. There is an axial stack and an external stack at the right end, both of which terminate below the eaves. A 20th-century extension has been added to the rear of the right end. The house is one storey with attics and has three 20th-century casement windows, along with three additional casements in gabled dormers. The entrance features a 20th-century door. The external plaster is designed in panels with combed guilloche patterns. Inside, there are chamfered axial beams with exposed plain joists of horizontal section that were inserted in the hall. The brickwork of the main hearth has been renewed, and there is an 18th-century corner cupboard with shaped shelves.
